Wordpress Upgrade Activate!

After posting a few times on Vince’s blog and seeing the new Wordpress interface, I decided an upgrade was in order. And indeed, it was a beneficial upgrade. The RSS feed is now fixed (a bonus for all you whiners who complained but offered no guidance to help fix it. =P Also why my blog postings are showing up on Facebook lately, if you were curious).

More important, though (at least for the writer): They’ve incorporated the image uploading into the “Write Post” window. Great!! My process before involved opening two windows, and copying from one into another to get the images set up in my post. Now I have this handy image module in the same window that I use for writing:

Swiss Army USB?

So these have probably been around for a quite a while, but I only saw a picture of them recently. It made me start to think of the usefulness of something like this.

Swiss Army Knife w/ USB Key

I started thinking of when I use my USB key, and it seems like it wouldn’t be ideal to have it attached to a knife of all things. For me, USB keys are most handy when traveling to give a presentation - you never know when your computer just won’t connect to a projector. A USB key is the surest way to get your information to another computer. But attached to a knife… wouldn’t it get confiscated?

I don’t really use swiss army knives regularly, so I guess I can’t comment on the utility of having an additional gadget hooked on. It just doesn’t seem to fit in the context of most professional settings. Maybe it’s better for personal use?

At Least I Was Helpful

I playtested the CMU PuzzleQuest today, and it was actually a lot of fun. While I can’t disclose any specifics (since the actual event takes place in 3 weeks), I can say that we were the first to finish all of the puzzles, and I wasn’t completely inept in working toward the outcome.

Nobody Wants My Money

del.icio.us Digg Facebook

Is 2am Sunday morning an awkward time to be paying bills? Or maybe it’s just an ideal time to be performing maintenance on your website?

I tried to pay my bills tonight (after mastering Quicken, per Jason’s suggestion), but all of them (except a bank in Omaha… yay Omaha…) were performing maintenance on their bill pay websites. Well, if they don’t want my money, then I just won’t give it to them! (Until tomorrow).
